Here are the tips on how to make sure that your scarf is made of natural silk: when touched:

The natural silk feels soft and smooth on both sides, support the warmth of the skin and does not electrifies much.

Synthetic silk electrifies easily, clings to the skin and not breathable.

You can wash natural silk in a small tub filled with warm (30C) water and mild soap (there are some special for wool, silk and alike if you can find). We used the fragrance free soap for handwash. Keeping scarf in same tub, rinse clear under running cool water. Gently squeeze and spread on towel to absorb most of the water and leave to dry lying flat protected from direct sunlight.
