  1. New York, New York, what a magical place! When one thinks about New York, most people think about theater, haute cuisine, shopping, museums and the hustle and bustle of a vibrant city. But there is more - magic!! On a trip to New York City, even a short weekend trip, a must see is Steve Cohen’ Chamber Magic Show. Steve Cohen invites only 50 guests most weekends into the parlor of his home in the Waldorf Astoria Residences. Being invited into the Waldorf Residences is a treat in and of itself, but then you are treated to an evening of some of the most amazing magic around. No cutting people in half or walking through walls, but truly mind boggling illusions that you witness within inches of the magic. Take four solid gold rings from four differenct guests, put the rings in a clear wine glass, swirl them around a few times and voila, all the rings are linked together! Let the guests examine the rings to determine that they are the actual rings that were given to Steve, put the inter-twined rings back in the glass, swirl and once again, they are separated! Or, “Think -A-Drink”. Name your favorite drink, let’s say aged scotch, and Steve pours a cup of it from a teapot for you to sample. He asks the next person who might say a marguerita and from the very same teapot that never left your sight, he pours a perfect marguerita. This is repeated four or five times. Someone asked for grapefruit juice and he asked if he wanted white or pink, with or without pulp. Being a bit cynical, I still thought that this was somehow all set up. Until, I was called to the front to assist in a trick. I secretly wrote down the name of a city in the United States and placed it face down on the piano. Then, Steve took a map of the United States and while talking to me, was tearing up the map until he had only a small circle left. Then he took a pin and without looking stuck it into the map, exactly on the city that I chose. I was sold-this was real magic. Chamber Magic is a show not to be missed! Planning a trip to New York City? Let me help you. I will even magically produce tickets to Steve Cohen’s Chamber Magic Show.

  2. This is an interesting story. What’s the price to be treated in Waldorf Astoria with magic?

  3. The regular ticket price is $75.00 per person. However, if you would like to be guaranteed a front row seat, the price jumps up to $100.00. Since there are only 5 or 6 rows, front row seating is not a real benefit. The number of guests is only 50 and Steve does move around quite a bit, so even in the back row you are close to the magic.
